Unionville Vineyards

Unionville Vineyards has been making wine since 1987. The winery is located in Ringoes, New Jersey. Unionville Vineyards has won more than 500 Gold Medals since 1992. If you are able to get there, a trip to their tasting room is in order. We had the good fortune of having the booth next to them at the Food Network Food and Wine Event in Atlantic City this weekend.

The show was amazing and so are Unionville wines.

My daughter loved Cool Foxy Lady Ice Wine. This is a late harvest dessert wine. It is pale gold in color and has loads of tropical and floral notes. This dessert wine has terrific tropical and spice flavors and a long finish.

I loved the Port wine. This port is made from Chambourcin grapes and is fortified with brandy from Knapp Vineyards. It is a fabulous alternative to the usual port wines that one can buy. It has a wonderful  fruit and raisin flavor and is not too sweet.

But my real favorite and truly the Wine On My Mind this week is the Big O!!!

This wine rightly deserves it’s name. It brings pleasure from start to finish. It is a blend of cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc and merlot.  This is a medium bodied gorgeous red with lots of berry, cherry and spice. It has a long and satisfying finish that will keep you coming back for more. Loved, loved,  loved it!

All the wines are priced at under $30 and all are well worth it.

A big shout out and thanks to our friends Helene and Mitch for keeping us happy all weekend long.
